CAN YOU BE RICH WITHOUT COMMITTING A CRIME

  One of my business mentor once said,from his experience in business world, he has learnt that - behind every great fortune there is a crime.

That word struck me like a dagger and it brought me to a point I decided to research the more on what riches is all about and the thought of God about riches.

To be rich, simply means having a lot of money or property.

Does God want us to become rich? The Bible clearly stated in proverbs 10:22 " The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He add no sorrow with it".These indicates that there are some riches that comes with sorrow.

From the stories in the Bible, most of the people that trusted God were blessed and were very rich, someone like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Esther etc.

From the story of those that were made rich by God, they took a risk. So if you want to be rich in life, you must be willing to take a risk, get out of your comfort zone, there is not a single rich person who has not taken risks in their lifetime. We must know the distinction between taken a risk and committing crime.

To commit a crime, simply means, breaking the law, or doing illegal activities that can be punished by law. Taking a risk doesn't means involving in a crime but to take a dangerous bold step to achieve a set goal.

Those that become rich by crime proceed has attracted upon themselves the judgment of God. Jeremiah 17: 11" As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatched them not,so he that getteth riches and not by right shall leave them in the midst of his day, and his end shall be a fool".

Psalm 52:5 & 7 " God shall likewise destroy thee forever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place and root thee out of the land of the living. Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches,and strengthen himself in his wickedness".

You can become rich without committing a crime by obeying the word of God.

Psalm 112:1 & 2 " Blessed is the man that feared the Lord, that delighted greatly in his commandment.Wealth and riches shall be in his house and his righteousness endureth for ever".

Psalm 22 : 4 " By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour,and life".

God said I will bless the work of your hand.

He blessed Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ruth etc.He will surely make you rich when you fear God in all that you do, when you are humble and live with integrity. Time and chances will happened unto you. Ecclesiastes 9 : 11.

The background of the family you came from, whether from a poor or a rich family, has nothing to do with your ability to become rich.Though having a financial bouyant family is somewhat an advantage to make it financially but it is not a guarantee of you succeed financially.

Have you wondered why most children born into wealthy homes hardly make it like their parents? And have you observed that the majority of rich people you hear of in the world are always those from humble beginnings. It is simply because they acted out of discomfort, they desired to be great because they weren't living in a comfort zone, whereas those from wealthy background who failed to leave their comfort zone always end up inheriting only the wealth of their parents, which are often squandered on extravagant lifestyle with time.

If you want to be rich in a Godly way without attracting sorrow, the following are some of the principles to follow: 

* Have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ

* Fear God and obey His word

* Be humble and avoid pride

* Diligently work.

* Discover your talent, passions or hobbies that God has endowed you with 

* Be ready to take a risk, if you fail once, don't quit, try again until you succeed.

*Have a high desire to want to be rich in a Godly way.

* Don't try to impress anyone.

* Avoid getting into debt

* Live below your means.

As you keep on doing the right thing, time and chance will happen unto you one day.
