Be patient

Embracing patience. Slow and steady, you will navigate through life's challenges and emerge victorious. The conventional path may not always be the best one. Sometimes, it's the road less traveled that leads to the most fulfilling destinations. One man explained his experience in a blocked expressway that reflects our journey in life, read on.

I was few kilometres away from Ibadan in Nigeria and vehicles ahead started making u-turn. It was the 5th driver who offered to tell me "EXPRESS TI BLOCK " The express road is blocked" in a hurry.

I pulled over and asked God what I should do. I was pacing to catch an appointment.

An old farmer emerged attempting to cross. I alighted and greeted him, grinning.

He knew about the accident that locked the traffic down. It was apparent I needed help and he was gracious to me.

Values are local! One good place to experience humanity is in the village.

Baba told me there's a way but it's dusty, long and rough. His conclusion became my chewing stick for a long time;

"Sùúrù lẹ'ẹfi gba bẹ o; ẹ beere ona niwaju"

(You'd ply the route patiently; ask for direction as you advance)

I crossed to where he pointed off the express; removed my jacket, my bib and released the neck button.

I entered "suuru" mode

No 3G. No Google map

"Baami, nibo l'ọna 'badan?" was a question I repeated a couple of times

Those of you who don't know your language; the day you'd need direction in your language en

It's not every favour that speaks English.

It was the market day for a particular village; I couldn't resist a basket of "agbalumo" for #500.

My wife said "you still had time to buy agbalumo in a foreign land"!

Something that'd cost 3k ni'gboro.

After several turns and twists I came out at a familiar junction closer home. I already escaped the traffic jam.

A friend who took the express spent 8 hours. It was an evening of lessons and blessings.

The express is not always fast sir!

It is always safer the patient route

You'd always find things cheaper on Patient Way

Patience will take you through unpopular paths to experience uncommon peace.

When God's taking you through patient paths, you may not be reachable before you reach your place

The path of patience is not always tarred by popular opinion or asphalted by social media frenzy

If you undress your ego and ask questions, you'd survive ignorance

God can show you the way where Google is confused

The right road is usually left!

It can be rough and right

Patience is more painful under pressure

it's the patient soul that can draw the milk of a pregnant lion

Ask those who rushed into marriage and ministry; they'd tell you that "EXPRESS TI BLOCK"

Patience is one of the best lecturers of Wisdom.

If God is taking you through the patient path; never join them on the express. You'd not 'lassdent' o

Suuru l'ọba iwa

A ni kanju ku o

Please enter the "suuru" mode today with everybody. Pressure ti wa!

Especially with your spouse and children, friends and neighbors.
