This idea can be seen in religious texts from different faiths including Christianity (Romans 8:28), Islam (Qur'an 3-140) and Judaism (Berakhot 4a).  A peaceful and successful marriage doesn't just happened, you must work for it to happen. Majority of people devote their time and energy to the success of their business, they never realised that even to succeed in marriage required more energy than what is given to business success. From my years of over four decades practical experience in this institution called marriage , I discovered, it is a training school where you keep on learning new things every time, you never graduate from it till one lives this earth.
